Statement of Involvement in Estate Planning
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I serve across a range of disciplines with clients including general financial planning, investment planning, retirement savings and income planning, risk management and insurance planning, tax planning, estate planning, professional conduct and regulation, and education planning.
Each of these disciplines are interrelated at various times in a clients’ lifecycle and it’s important to stay current on tax rules (federal and state), legislative changes, and how they impact a client’s wealth plan.
As part of a client’s wealth plan, we incorporate estate planning in various ways. Most importantly, it begins with helping clients understand the importance of an effective estate plan and ensuring a client establishes the necessary documents with a licensed attorney. Furthermore, as a fiduciary it is our responsibility to ensure that the estate plan evolves with their preferences and changes with legislation over time.
Additionally, we incorporate the clients’ estate plan to align with their investment accounts to reflect their goals, preferences, risk tolerance, account registrations, and beneficiary designations.
